The Privilege of Prayer
I love the privilege of prayer, don’t you? How amazing is it that Jesus listens to me? My own kids and my students may tune me out…but not my Lord. He listens and He understands.
Troubles, problems, worries…there is nothing he can’t handle.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
But does He really want to hear about my life when there are so many who have greater needs or worries?
You bet He does. Because we are human sometimes we think our prayers aren’t important, after all I am only one of billions of people in the world. I am not anything special. Why would he care what I think?
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalms 100:4
There are times when my spirit is so troubled or sad that I don’t know what to pray for?
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Romans 8:26
Prayer is the power cord between God and man. Are you connected?
I have mentioned Shaun Groves before on my blog. This morning I received a prayer in his daily update that I wanted to share with you.
Will you pray it with me?
“May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.”
St. Thérèse de Lisieux
AMEN!
Don’t forget to pray for those GRANDchildren!
And because I am a Tim Tebow fan….I wanted you to hear what he has to say about prayer too!
Yes, prayer is so vital and an awesome privilege. blessings, Amy
