Day 16-Prayer
Day 16 of 30 Days of Thanks
Prayer
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
My mother referred to me as a “worry wart” and she was right. I know God is in control and I know I shouldn’t worry but sometimes I do. Prayer is a way to lower our anxiety level. If we do it enough, study God’s word and grow our faith our worry level is less.
Prayer is a chance to talk to God and what a blessing that is! I talk to him about everything. I praise Him for all His creations (well, maybe not spiders, snakes and mice) and I ask him to watch over my family. I pray for the leaders of the world and for those who are sick and suffering.
Famous Quotes About Prayer
“Let us never forget to pray. God lives. He is near. He is real. He is not only aware of us but cares for us. He is our Father. He is accessible to all who will seek Him.”
? Gordon B. Hinckley, Standing for Something: 10 Neglected Virtues That Will Heal Our Hearts and Homes
“Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at His disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts.”
? Mother Teresa
“I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for that day.”
? Abraham Lincoln
