When I Grow Up I Want to be Like Ann Voskamp

Ask any actor or actress who inspired them and they won’t have any trouble naming someone in their profession they admire.

Ask a singer what music they listen to and who they were influenced by and they can tell you.

Ask a writer/blogger who they wish they could be like and I guarantee there is someone whose work impresses them.

For me it’s Ann Voscamp.

I wrote about her a few weeks ago and told you about her book 1000 Gifts. You can read that post here.

She says what is in my heart and does it so eloquently, so beautifully, and yet so simply that it brings tears to my eyes. I admire her writing so much that I found myself wishing that when I grow up I could be like her.

The problem is I am old enough to be her mother, so maybe I should just say I really admire her writing and leave it at that.

Ann, you have given the world more than 1000 Gifts with your writing! God is good and you are an inspiration to so many. May you have many more years of writing ahead of you so that we can continue to see the world through your eyes.
