Faithfully Fun Friday-Back to School

It is almost that time again: back to school! That time when most parents take a sigh of relief to enjoy a moment of peace and quiet, while children and teachers groan with dread! Okay maybe it’s not all bad as that, but I know in our house as the moment of the first day of school draws nearer my boys are getting less and less excited about going back, mainly because it means getting up early again! For me back to school brings mixed emotions. While my boys are at school it does make it a little easier to get some work done at home, however, loud as they are I do miss them! It has been nice being home with my kids all summer.

Back to school time also brings fun things around for Faithfully Fun! Teacher gifts are always fun!! And what teacher doesn’t enjoy an apple? How about one with no worms and that won’t rot? Sounds even better doesn’t it! I have had a wonderful response from my Apple Pins! They have been given to many teachers for appreciation gifts and always seem to be a big hit! My favorite is the red apple but I am sure a green apple would look just as sweet!

Little girls love back to school because it means shopping for new clothes and accessories! Part of those accessories for many is a new hair bow! The fun thing about hair bows is they can be matched to suit any outfit, but why stop there. With Faithfully Fun ribbon sculptures her hair accessory can help her show school spirit, her hobbies or interests. So many options.

Above all though, as we head back to school and so much of our focus begins to lean toward our children’s education, let us never forget the importance of teaching them the love and the Word of God. I love the Deuteronomy 6: 4-9 where Moses is instructing the Israelites and tells them,

““Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

Let us not forget to teach our children to love God always. To keep them surrounded by His knowledge, when they get up, when they lay down. Never let a teachable moment pass when you can share something of our Lord with our children (or grandchildren). Let us study together and teach them diligently for these are the lessons that will truly last a lifetime and beyond! I wish everyone blessings and safety during the upcoming school year.

In Him,

  1. Thank you for linking in your randomness in the prairies this week. I have to admit that I am both looking forward to school and dreading it. My kids loves school and the social structure of it, plus the middle man thrives in the schedule of it. But this is the year that my youngest starts preschool and that I am dreading. I won’t know what to do with myself, but I’m sure that I will find things to do. There is always laundry.
