Quick Shrimp Ceviche Appetizer
Shrimp Ceviche Appetizer
I love just about anything with shrimp, so we often have it on hand to satisfy cravings. In fact, many of the items in this shrimp ceviche are likely in your kitchen or pantry right now too. Ready to whip up a tasty little dip?
Much like a great pico, there are so many flavors that stand out in ceviche. I’ve perfected mine to suit my taste buds, so feel free to add more of or hold back on any of the ingredient measurements below.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Ingredients:
- 3/4 pound of cooked shrimp, chopped
- 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 4 large tomatoes, diced
- 1-2 jalapenos, chopped (remove seeds for less bite)
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup green chile, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- chips or crackers
Preparation:
- Squeeze lime juice into a mixing bowl
- Add in shrimp and tomatoes and allow to marinate while chopping up remaining ingredients
- Mix in onions, jalapenos, chile, garlic, and cilantro
- Season with salt and pepper to taste
- Chill in fridge or serve immediately
Additional Ingredients for Extra Flavor
I also enjoy my shrimp ceviche with diced avocados. It adds color, texture, and flavor, plus a little healthy fat! And if you’re short on time, a can of Rotel diced tomatoes and green chile, juice and all, will work in a pinch.
Make it for yourself this weekend or save the recipe for your next event. It’s simple to throw together and always a popular dish!
Enjoy!
