Cinnamon Sugar Mug Cakes
Cinnamon Sugar Mug Cakes Make a Great Dessert!
Last night, the kids and I had a craving for something sweet after dinner. As I scoured the pantry for a quick snack, I came up empty-handed. While there wasn’t a sweet treat I could simply grab off the shelf, I did have the handful of ingredients it takes to throw together the easiest little cakes I’ve ever known.
Quick and Easy Dessert
In a matter of minutes, I can whip up these delicious cinnamon sugar mug cakes with ease. We love these but there are several other flavors I can make, like a warm peanut butter chocolate blend, or a more traditional chocolate chip, cinnamon sugar is a favorite in our house. With only a few ingredients and under a minute and a half each in the microwave, dessert is readily available in minutes!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
Preparation:
- Set aside 1 tbsp of sugar and 1/2 tbsp of cinnamon. This will become your layering mixture.
- Mix the rest of the ingredients until batter is smooth and cinnamon is evenly dispersed.
- In a coffee mug, scoop a large spoonful of batter, then sprinkle a layer of your cinnamon sugar mixture you set aside. Repeat. I typically have three layers in my mug, using any leftover cinnamon sugar mixture as the topping.
- Microwave your mug cake for 1 minute, 20 seconds.
- Allow a few minutes to cool before serving.
Adding Your Favorite Toppings or Sides
Normally I’d serve my mug cake with a side of vanilla ice cream. With the cinnamon sugar mug cake, it’s a tasty way to enjoy it. I’ve also served my mug cakes with whip cream, cool whip, chocolate sauce, or powdered sugar on top. The options are endless and left to whatever your taste buds desire!
You just can’t beat these little guys. Cake in a matter of minutes? Yes, please!
Happy baking!
