Quick and Easy Garlic Lemon Alfredo Sauce
When you’re short on time and the family is hungry, it’s so easy to grab a jar of alfredo sauce fro the pantry. But, what if you had a go-to alfredo sauce recipe that was not only rich, creamy, and delicious, but simple enough to whip together in minutes? Even if the rest of your dish is a toss and heat concoction, you can have restaurant-worthy, homemade alfredo sauce in no time!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Ingredients for Lemon Garlic Alfredo Sauce:
2 1/ tbsp salted butter
2 cups heavy cream
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 tbsp flour
1 lemon
1 cup fresh spinach
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
In a large sauce pan, melt your butter over medium heat.
Add in garlic and saute.
Slowly add in your heavy cream and 1 tbsp of flour. Save the remaining flour in case you need to thicken up your sauce. Be sure to stir or whisk slowly and constantly.
Reduce heat slightly and add in your cheese.
Continue to stir until melted and creamy.
Add in fresh spinach. Cover and simmer for 2-3 minutes to cook spinach.
Squeeze lemon juice into sauce and continue to mix. I love to slice off a few thin lemon wheels as garnish, then use the remaining lemon for the sauce.
Season with your salt and pepper. Add in a bit f flour if you’d like to thicken.
Serve over your favorite pasta or blend a medley of veggies and pasta right into the sauce, then serve. (see images below)
Favorite Tasty Options for Garlic Lemon Alfredo
There are many delicious ways to use this quick and easy garlic lemon alfredo sauce. Whether you use it with a pre-cooked meal and add in your favorite meats and seafood, you really can’t go wrong!
To keep my meal quick and easy, I used a frozen skillet dinner. I chose a healthy chicken vegetable skillet dinner that we all love. While it does come with its own pouch of sauce, I find that the serving isn’t quite large enough for us. We love drenching our pasts in alfredo sauce and there’s just nothing quite like a homemade version! The pre-made skillet dinners can be found in any frozen section, or, if you love to meal prep, the sauce is perfect when you’re ready to use one of your own frozen dinners!
I also love this creamy sauce over a tender chicken breast. I plate the chicken then smother it with the lemon garlic alfredo and top it with a lemon wheel. Depending on how hungry I am, I serve it with a side of pasta or salad and tons of cheese stuffed garlic biscuits! I’ve even tried the sauce with a cup of sauteed mushroom mixed in for chicken meals!
We can’t wait to hear what you use your alfredo sauce with this week!
