Oven-Baked Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus

Bacon has been a big love in our household lately. You may have caught last week’s bacon-wrapped pork chops that were tender and flavorful with a hint of spice, and there will be a sneak peek of next week’s in today’s recipe! Honestly, we love bacon with everything and basically every meal! One of my favorites that I hadn’t made in quite a while was an oven-baked bacon-wrapped asparagus recipe as a side item or appetizer. I thought I’d share by quick and easy recipe so you had a tasty side dish to make with any of your meals this week.

Here What You’ll Need:

Ingredients for Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus:

  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus
  • 10-12 stips of regular sliced bacon
  • olive oil
  • salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste

Preparation:

  • Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees.
  • Place a baking rack onto a baking sheet.
  • Wash and pat dry your asparagus, then cut or snap off the stalk ends.
  • Drizzle olive oil onto your asparagus.
  • Season your asparagus with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Wrap 2-3 asparagus with 1 bacon strip. Alternatively, you can cut your strips length-wise for faster crisping.
  • Place your bacon-wrapped asparagus onto the rack and cook for 9-11 minutes, depending on your desired crispiness.
  • Remove from oven ad flip them over carefully. Return to oven and bake another 9-11 minutes.
  • Remove and serve as a side dish or appetizer.

Cooking with Extra Asparagus

I had quite a bit of asparagus left over after purchasing two bundles, so I used them to saute a veggie medley. It only required a few extra steps and cooked up nicely on the stovetop. I created a flavorful chicken veggie pasta that you’ll have to try out next week! I added fresh garlic to the mix and used extra bacon strips from the bacon-wrapped chicken. Nothing went to waste and we had a delicious meal to enjoy!
