Full House, The Waltons, and The Smurfs
When my daughter was young she watched TGIF every Friday night and most of the time I watched with her. Remember the television show Full House? That was one of her favorites.
The reason I’m mentioning that show is for the last few weeks our house has been growing…not the house itself, just the number of people who are living here.
Upstairs we have the twins plus whoever decides to spend the night. Ususally it’s Jesse Jones or Justin Edwards. Then our second son, Justin, just moved back into his room for a few months. So if you were planning on booking a room at Hotel Kindred on the second floor, sorry, it’s full.
The main floor only has one bedroom and Bill and I are permanent residents.
The basement was home to our oldest son but he is restoring my grandmother’s house and he moved out two weeks ago.
Our daughter and son-in-law have invested in the blueberry farm and decided to move to Metcalfe County. They are going to build a house on the farm but until then, they are living in our basement.
Add to this mix my daughter’s two terriers (Molly and Piper) and Justin’s dog, Dexter (who visits frequently but lives with Justin’s girlfriend) and we have a very full house.
We have been compared to the Waltons several times and lately (because of our blueberry adventure) we’ve been compared to the Smurfs.
So next time you see Bill (my husband) you may want to refer to him as Poppa Smurf (or not).
Whatever we are we are happy. Noisy and messy, but happy.
Thank you Lord for the blessing of family!
Just in case you don’t remember the Smurfs, here is a refresher for you.
And play this game to see if you remember these famous television families.
Sounds like a blast! Nothing worse than an empty huge house. Enjoy every minute of it. 🙂
