You Can Be Part of the In Crowd if You Are Crowded
Remember a few weeks ago I wrote a post about having a full house? Evidently it’s cool to be crowded. In the post I compared us to the television show Full House, the Waltons and the Smurfs. Well, a funny thing happened after that post. I got an email from a television producer in California asking if my family would be interested in applying to be on a new reality show they have created called appropriately, “Crowded.”
My first response was to laugh, but then I told my children about it and they had their own opinions. Here are some of the comments they made.
“Way cool, we are going to be famous! Can I flex my muscles in front of a mirror while they are here?”
“How much are they going to pay us? Will we be millionaires?”
“This could jump start my career! You gotta do this, mom.”
With two boys about to start college I began thinking a little cash might be nice. Then I smacked myself upside the head and said out loud, “You would be crazy to let a television crew in here!”
As it turns out after a few more conversations with the producer, we didn’t qualify anyway. You have to have three generations living under one roof full time and we only have two (three when granddaughter spends the night).
When I told the kids that we didn’t qualify you could almost see the stash of cash they had dreamed of disappear from the little bubble above their heads.
Truthfully, I was relieved. I like my privacy. I don’t want anyone seeing me in the mornings before I get my heart pumping with two cups of coffee. Believe me, America isn’t ready for that.
I should probably send the producer an update though because this week our house got even more crowded thanks to Sugar (our Brittany Spaniel).
So that’s the true story of how I almost had fifteen minutes of fame and then didn’t. Truthfully from what I read in the papers and see on television (remember John and Kate Plus Eight?) I think fame is over rated anyway.
Is means important people are reading your blog! How exciting!
Sorry your house isn’t “crowded” enough for the tv producers, although I think sometimes homes with only 2 people sometimes can feel crowded. LOL! I am your newest follower from the Weekend blog hop!
