Salmon Cakes at Nana’s House
Salmon Cakes
My Dad called them salmon paddies and I remember mom making them for him a few times but none of us would touch them. I didn’t like the smell of salmon, and for me, that was all I needed to turn my nose up and avoid them.
A few weeks ago when we went to California, the folks who were putting on the conference we attended, held a cooking class and guess what was on the menu? Salmon cakes.
I got up the courage to taste them and they weren’t too bad….okay, they were good. I should have tried them years ago.
When my husband learned we’d made salmon cakes he begged me to make some for him so I guess we will be having them at our house soon.
Do you like salmon cakes?
This is a blog hop. Link up and leave a comment! Happy Monday!
Thank you Patrick. I appreciate that and hope you do too!
Thanks for sharing that! I had never heard of it being prepared that way.
I like them okay but not a favorite for sure. Thanks for stopping by!
I don’t know about that! But maybe, I hope so!
I do like salmon cakes and that’s just the pre-made ones that you only have to cook yourself. I bet yours were way better.
I’ve had salmon cakes (I had no choice but to eat them or be rude; I ate them) but I’m not a big fan. 🙂 I don’t know if making them myself would make me like them more or like them less. ha.
My Dad’s recreation was fishing, so I grew up eating all kinds of fish. So, yes, I do like salmon and sometimes I prepare salmon cakes, although my favorite salmon is smoked or cured salmon called lox, eaten with cream cheese on a bagel.
So very nice. Looks like they are very good. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
