Spicy Italian Sausage and Shrimp Pasta

It can be easily customized with all your favorite sautéed vegetables. If you’re searching for a dish with a light sauce base and a zesty kick, you’ll love this easy to make penne dish.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Ingredients for spicy Italian Sausage and shrimp pasta:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 lb Spicy Italian sausage
- 1/2 lb shrimp
- 1 zucchini, sliced
- 1 box/bag mini penne pasta
- shredded parmesan cheese to garnish
Preparation:
- Prepare your pasta, boiling for approximately 8 minutes.
- In a medium sauté pan, heat oil and sauté garlic for 1 minute.
- Add in sausage and begin to lightly brown.
- When Italian sausage is almost cooked through, add in butter, seasoning, and shrimp.
- Sauté on low until shrimp is pink and cooked through, then remove from heat.
- Drain your penne pasta and add it to your Italian sausage and shrimp mixture.
- Blend well and serve with Parmesan cheese.
Alternative for Non-Spicy Taste Buds
If you’re not a fan of spicy dishes, pick up smoked sausage links instead. You can always add in red pepper flakes for guests or family members who do enjoy a little spice in their pasta dish. I recommend 1/4 teaspoon to start.
Alternatively, you can add a can of diced tomatoes and green chilies to your dish in place of the spicy Italian sausage. You’ll still get a bit of a kick and add some juice to your pasta sauce.
