Reality Television Can’t Beat This

Remember a few posts ago I told you that my family was asked to try out for a new reality show and that we were  almost famous?

We were actually rejected because we only have two generations living in our house and they wanted three. Anyway, they don’t know what they are missing by not choosing us. It’s crazy around here. How crazy? Grab a cup of coffee and read on.

New Puppies In The House

You remember that our dog Sugar had ten puppies and they are living in our basement until the puppies get a little more mobile.

Well my daughter and son-in-law also live in the basement. The puppies are in the weight room/garage and the people (Gabe and Rachel) are next door. Gabe is a sweetheart but he has always had trouble sleeping through the night.  He loves the puppies and checks on them often. Saturday night about three thirty in the morning he went to check on them. After his visit he decides it’s time to go back to bed but when he tries the door it had locked behind him!

Locked out

Hey, it happens to everybody; even the President.

But the President isn’t wearing boxers and it isn’t 3:30 in the morning.

What to do?

If you are the President the Secret Service can get you in. If you are Gabe, there is no one to help except Sugar and ten puppies.

He tried knocking on the door but Rachel sleeps with two fans going and the door shut. She never even knew her husband was MIA.

He opened the garage door and prowled around the house in his under wear looking for unlocked doors. There were none.

Finally he gave up and laid down on an exercise mat next to Sugar and the pups. He said they were happy to have him as an over night guest.

The Next Day

At 9:30 on Sunday morning Rachel gets up and realizes Gabe isn’t there. She goes looking for him and he’s standing on the back porch in his boxers knocking on the window. She thinks she’s seeing things and rubs her eyes again. It’s been drizzling rain and Gabe isn’t happy. He yells encouraging words that when translated mean “hurry up and open the door!”

All’s Well That Ends Well

Fortunately Gabe has a great sense of humor. We have teased him unmercifully and he just laughs with us.

“Why didn’t you call for help?” we asked.

“Didn’t have my cell phone with me?” he said.

“Why didn’t you bang on our window?” my husband said.

“Because I was embarrassed,” Gabe said.

Like I said, that reality show will be really sorry they passed on our family.

  1. I love your concluding thought. If only Ba.D. were still at his mom’s home, they’d have been eligible. Then again, he’s already had his stint on reality TV . . . not too sure the grammas would be keen for their own!
