Locked Out…Again

Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about my son-in-law getting locked in the basement with the puppies? If you don’t remember go here. Well, it’s happened again. Only this time it was during the day and it wasn’t just him, my daughter was with him. We had all gone to church and they were running late. They ran out the door only to realize they had left their keys inside and the door locked behind them.

So my son-in-law took a house key and went to make copies. You would think that would solve the problem. You would think.

Tonight after supper my daughter came upstairs and asked if I wanted to go for a walk. I put my tennis shoes on and headed out the door. My husband was sitting in the den and I yelled at him and told him where we were going. He didn’t respond but I assumed he heard me. Wrong.

After our walk we came to the door and guess what? Yep, we were locked out. I knocked….nothing happened. Rachel said she’d walk around to a different door. She did but it was locked too.

She rang the door bell and the dogs barked.

I knocked and then knocked louder.

Nothing happened.

I couldn’t understand why my husband wasn’t answering the door.

Finally, my son-in-law came to the door laughing (yeah, it’s funny when someone else is locked out). He let us in and I went in the den to see why Bill hadn’t opened the door.

Can you tell he has his ear buds in and he's jamming?

I pulled his ear buds out and asked him if he knew we were locked out.

“No, why didn’t you knock or ring the door bell?” he said.

Our anniversary is next week. I think I’ll get him a hearing aid.
