The Other Grandmother

So now you know that I am going to be a nana again, but did you know that there is another nana  (aka Grandma) who is just as excited as I am?  Her name is Patty and I wish you could meet her.

When Gabe and Rachel got married Patty cooked the rehearsal dinner. I’m not sure how many people she fed that night (I was just a tad preoccupied because my only daughter was getting married). What I do remember is the food. Oh my goodness, was it good? It was beyond good, beyond great, it was awesome!

She has been married to H.M. for 33 years and they enjoy gardening together, spending time with their family and traveling.

Like me, Patty is an animal lover. She helped me find homes for several of our puppies and I suspect she would have taken several of them herself if she didn’t already have her own menagerie. Patty works at a doctor’s office and helps everything there run smoothly. I suspect she doesn’t know how much she’s valued at work and at home.

She’s an avid reader and for years she has generously shared her books with me . We both love mysteries and enjoy many of the same authors.

I guess you can tell by now that Patty and I have a lot in common and now we are going to share a grandchild. I’m so glad she’s my daughter’s mother-in-law (and my friend) and I know Rachel is too because she’s told me many times how much she loves her!

Rachel and Gabe’s baby has a whole host of people who can’t wait to love him/her….(we find out Thursday if it’s a him or her!)  How I wish every child in the world could be so loved!
