Cooking Omelette Cups with the Kids and Grandkids

Cooking with the kids, especially the littles, is a fun way to spend time together and offers opportunity to sneak in educational components too! 😉 When preparing your omelette cups, set up an omelette bar with an array of topping choices. You can easily whip up your egg mixture alone and add your toppings directly into the cups. It’s a great way to let the kids explore different flavors and try new combinations. Some of our favorite toppings include:

  • mushrooms
  • olives
  • onions
  • different cheeses
  • pepperoni
  • breakfast sausage
  • ham
  • lots and lots of bacon!

Egg Variations for Your Omelette Cups

Alternatively, you can scramble your egg mixture while your pie crust cups are baking. Once your crust is done, spoon in the desired amount of eggs into each cup and sprinkle with cheese. You can also crack an egg directly into your cup after the first 7 minutes of baking for an egg-only omelette cup. These are a tasty way to create an over easy or over medium egg within your pie crust.
