Nap Time at NanaHood

I think naps are under-rated. If I had my way every day at work after lunch we would get our pillows and blankies out and have a siesta. I just know the world would be a better place if nap time were mandatory.

Which brings me to one of the great mysteries of life. Why do human beings spend the first ten years or so of life fighting sleepiness and then the rest of our lives trying to catch up? Don’t believe me? Try saying “nap” to a five year old and watch them run in the other direction.

But when they do sleep they look like little angels.

My sweeties sleeping.

If you have ever spent a sleepless night worrying about something or maybe you couldn’t sleep because the neighbor’s dog was barking, and then the next night you fall into bed exhausted and are asleep before your head hits the pillow, you understand why today I am giving thanks for the blessing of a good night’s rest.

My cousin Martha sent me a picture of two of her grandchildren after a day of going to yard sales with Nana and Poppa.

Do you think maybe they were just a little bit tired?

I plan on submitting a bill to congress called “Nappy Time Amendment.”  If it passes all congressmen and women will be required to take naps. Who knows…they might wake up in a better mood and be able to pass a budget…maybe.

  1. The pictures are so precious. If I sit down in the afternoon for just a minute I get sleepy. lol If I feel blue all I have to do is get to your blog and perk up with the bright pink. It is such a happy color too, I still love what you are representing. Hugs, 🙂
