Finally Friday!
Except for the hair rollers when I looked in the mirror this morning, this is pretty much who I saw. I’ve noticed there is a pattern to my week. I start out fairly perky on Mondays (or as perky as I can get). Tuesday isn’t too bad. Wednesday I’m slowing down, and by Thursday my tail is dragging and I’m counting the minutes until it’s finally Friday.
Even when I was a young whipper-snapper I loved Fridays. Back then I looked forward to all the possibilities the weekend held. Now I get excited about sleeping late on Saturday and taking a nap on Sunday after church. I don’t know why adults can’t have nap time. It seems like we spend the first ten years or so of our lives fighting going to sleep and the rest of our lives trying to catch up.
If I were a politician I think I would propose a law that required all businesses to stop for an hour after lunch so that every one could have a nap. I think it would be a win/win situation. People would not only feel better after a short snooze, I suspect they would be less grouchy. Maybe I’d even make a law that said all naps should be followed by a plate of warm chocolate chip cookies and a cold glass of milk.
Primary Election Day is next Tuesday. Maybe I should pass along my idea to some candidates. I feel sure it would help them get elected in the fall!
Amen, Susan!
When I was a teacher, we had a saying. You can tell the young teachers from the old teachers because the young ones are tired on Monday (from their weekends) and the old ones are tired on Friday (from making it through the week).
