Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Dish
Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Dish
My 13 year old granddaughter loves to cook. When she was younger we would cook together (and we still do sometimes) but now that she is older she likes to cook solo. This week she did a chicken dish that was so easy I bet your grands could bake it, too.
All it takes is chicken breasts, a bottle of ranch dressing, bacon and some cheese. She washed the chicken breasts and put them in the pan.
Then she smeared 2 to 4 tablespoons of Ranch dressing on each chicken breast. She wanted to trim the bacon to fit the chicken and the scissors had just come out of the dishwasher so I let her, then we put them back in the dishwasher.
She sprinkled mild cheddar cheese (but you could use any kind of cheese you wanted) over the bacon and then cooked at 350 for about an hour. The chicken breasts were exceptionally large so it took longer. I recommend shopping for smaller ones and then it would take about 40 minutes. She checked the oven frequently to make sure the cheese wasn’t burning. We decided to cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil just to make sure nothing was over done.
Her dish was a big hit and so easy that she wants to make it again soon. I love having her cook in my kitchen. She doesn’t like the clean up nearly as much as she does the cooking but neither do I. Thank goodness we have a dish washer so it didn’t take her long to rinse off everything and load it.
Abby loves cooking and I predict she’s going to be an excellent cook!
