Here’s What You’ll Need:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2 1/2 tbs vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- a sprinkle of salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- favorite toppings or dippers
- vegetable oil – enough for approximately 1″ deep frying oil in medium pan or pot
Preparation for Funnel Cakes:
- In a medium pot or pan, begin heating your vegetable oil. I use about an inch deep of oil and heat over medium heat.
- Mix your vanilla, eggs, milk, and water in a mixing bowl, preferable with a pouring spout. If not, mix all ingredients then transfer to a baking squeeze bottle or similar option for thinner funnel cake batter layers.
- Add in your granulated flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Mix until smooth.
- When oil reaches 375 degrees, it should create small bubbles when you place the tip of a wooden spoon into it.
- Carefully drizzle your batter in your desired pattern, overlapping in areas for a true funnel cake look.
- Allow batter to cook roughly 2 minutes on each side. Allow batter to become golden brown.
- Remove from oil and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Add any desired toppings and serve!
