Mother of the Year Nominee #3

I would like to nominate my Mom, Jolene Blevins.  She would not want me too.  She never wants any recognition or publicity.  She is an incredible Mom.  My mom is only 16 years older than me.  In some ways we have grown up together.  I couldn’t  believe boys used to ask me if me and my “sister” (Mom) would like to go out sometime. Looking back at pictures I now understand why – she is very pretty.

There is never a time I can’t call her.  She is always there for me.  Sometimes to hug me and tell me it will all be ok, and sometimes to tell me to I need to be tougher.

My mom has always worked outside our home.  She had too.  She would always find a way for me to have the things I really wanted and explain to me when a request was just not possible.  She always made sure I was in Church and instilled deep Christian values.  At the same time she made sure I understood that religion was personal.

My mom and I have always had so much fun together.  We would begin doing things and end up laughing uncontrollably.  We moved a mattress from upstairs to the downstairs and I became trapped in the turn of our stairway because we were laughing so hard.

She has found the perfect balance in being my friend, but also being my mom.  Every memory is a treasure, every moment together a joy.

I am blessed with a wonderful Mom!!
