FRUGAL FASHION FINDS (Habitat Jacket and More)-REFLECTIONS FROM THE KITCHEN SINK
It’s Frugal Fashion Friday!
I’ve got to tell you, I was freezing when I took the photo yesterday afternoon. It looks like I needed to go to the bathroom, but I promise I was just cold
Stylish Habitat Jacket & More!
This week, I’ve mixed and mingled fabrics and styles and come up with this hodge podge, super comfy combo. My favorite piece is this Habitat jacket-ish top. Great quality. Quirky fun features like the oversized buttons and ties on the pockets. Versatility that I think I can have some fun with later. This top retails in the $85ish range, but I scored this one, I thought, for $30…when I got to the register, it was an extra 20% off!! Shut up! $24 for this cutie patootie!! The length of the top lends itself to leggings, and these Seven faux leather leggings seemed to fit the bill. I happened across them at Sam’s for less than $5 before tax. I’m not even kidding! The pseudo-retail tag says $59. These close-outs were just too good not to at least try on. The ESPRIT boots blend the trendy duck boot look with the warmth needed on these below freezing days! Back in the day, they retailed in the $75ish range. I bought them at TJMaxx a couple years ago for about half that. Nothing like that classic style mixed with durability that lasts year after year. So retail $220ish…my cost $60ish…and that’s if you count these boots that have lingered in my winter wear collection so long.
Fashion Lesson of the Week
This week’s lesson: don’t be afraid to cross the lines blending styles. Cross those seasonal fabric lines, cross the color blending lines, and don’t hesitate to mix new pieces with old. Be bold and wear what brings comfort and a sense of happy!
Happy Friday, y’all!
