Frugal Fashion Finds: Dressy Casual- Reflections From the Kitchen Sink
It’s Frugal Fashion Friday time! It isn’t often these days I have a chance to wear something dressy casual, so it was pretty exciting to head to a church singing last weekend. A simple skirt and sweater fit the bill just fine. The separates have different styling flairs, but you know I don’t mind throwing odd things together.
Trendy Fashion at Cato
If you’ve not checked the retail store Cato out, I highly recommend it for some quick trendy fashion finds. Their regularly priced items are reasonable, and their clearance rack is very good. There is a store close to my son’s school, so when I have a few extra minutes, I will pop in. It is often hit or miss for me because of my height, but I sometimes find a bargain or two. This skirt with the asymmetric hem and wrap around styling was one of those bargains for only $6.99. Yep…$6.99.
Unbelievable Savings
I love the double-tier ruffle sleeves on this Blu Pepper sweater, and the rich color picked up on an undertone in the herringbone pattern of the skirt. The sweater was another of my second-hand finds, and if I remember correctly, it was $12ish making the total less than $20 for both pieces! (My earrings cost more than that!) A retail estimate is $75-80 range, so I was in the 60-75% off range. Not bad!
Simple and comfortable styling at a reasonable cost—a good combination for a frugal fashion fan. It was just right for a quick (and masked) outing with my friend, too. I am ready for some more activities that can get me out of yoga pants and jeans, aren’t you?
