Bill’s Blueberry Cobbler

We have a blueberry farm and the berries are ripe! I’m eating blueberries in the morning on my cereal. blueberries on cereal My friend took some home and made a lovely salad for her lunch. blueberries on salad And we had a blueberry cobbler for dessert! The best part about the cobbler is that my husband made it! He’s never made a dessert before and it turned out great. His recipe is below. Be sure and put a big dollop of vanilla ice cream on your piece of cobbler! blueberry cobbler   Bill’s Blueberry Cobbler (We have a large family so we doubled the recipe…for smaller families just cut this in half)

(my grandmother made her cobbler this way too)

2 sticks butter

2 cup self-rising flour

1 1/2 cup white sugar

2 cup milk

6 cups (more or less depending on how very berry you want it) fresh blueberries

Directions-Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place butter in an long rectangular baking dish. Melt butter in the preheating oven, about 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Mix flour, sugar, and milk in a bowl until combined; pour batter over melted butter. Scatter blueberries over batter. Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.

  2. This sounds (and looks) amazing. I am a huge fresh fruit fan and love when blueberries are in season. I hate when they turn before I can use them, so I love this simple and yum looking recipe. 🙂 Totally pinning!

  3. Lucky you, to have access to so many blueberries! So good – and so healthy too! We have to buy ours at Costco, but do so regularly when they are in season!
