Disney Cruise: New Friends, New Experiences, New Foods

Disclaimer: I just returned home a cruise aboard the #DisneyWonder and 2 days at #DisneyWorld for #DisneySMMC. Part of this experience was compensated. All thoughts and opinions expressed here are strictly my own!

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some posts about the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration I just attended. I’ll spread them out so I don’t overload you, but I do have a lot of excellent Disney World and Disney Cruise travel information that grandparents and parents will find helpful, so keep an eye open for future posts!

Disney Cruise at Dinner Time

Today I’m beginning by introducing you to our dinner companions every night on the ship. Because I didn’t have my own grandchildren with me I adopted these three adorable little girls and their mom for the duration of the cruise.

Motherhood meets NanaHood

How appropriate was it that Lori’s blog is A Day in Motherhood and I’m NanaHood? The fact that we shared a table was random but now that I’ve adopted her and her girls….it couldn’t have worked out better.

Every night I looked forward to hearing about their day and their experiences. On this particular night two of the girls had been magically turned into princesses and were going to the onboard Frozen show later in the evening. The sister who does not have glitter and her hair up is into sports and did NOT want to be a princess, which as the middle child I would expect no less from her. All middle children are different in a good way. My mom was a middle child and our middle child marches to the beat of a different drummer. So march on sister #2! You all three rocked…you just do it in ways as unique as each of you!

The three of them were so much fun and so adorable I wanted to bring them home with me but their mom refused. She did, however, reserve the right to ship them to me here in Kentucky all the way from Texas if when they got home they refused to clean their room or do their homework (which they would never, ever do).

A Day In Motherhood

Lori from Motherhood

This is Lori from A Day in Motherhood. (Please visit her blog and tell her NanaHood says Hello!) She was so much fun and a super good mom to her girls. I’m hoping she will come to Kentucky one day and bring her daughters. We can go pick some blueberries on our farm, cook up some delicious blueberry muffins or pies, visit Mammoth Cave, ride around the farm in our Ranger and play with dogs (as many and as long as they want).

Animator’s Palace

Animator’s Palace is where we ate the last night of the cruise and where I had my favorite desert. chocolate walnut cake

This was chocolate cake with a walnut crunchy type crust and raspberry sauce on the side. I could have eaten the whole cake (thank goodness they brought me a small piece).

Chocolate cheesecake

This was my husband’s dessert and what Lori chose as well. Chocolate cheesecake. All three of us licked our plates, which embarrassed the three little girls immensely but hey, that’s what parents and grandparents are for!

This is a blog hop! Would love for you to link up a post and tell me about your cruise or a fabulous desert you have had lately! Have a great week! Teresa

  1. Thank you so much for commenting and we raised 5…..when they were small and we took them to restaurants they had to drink water because we couldn’t afford drinks and food! Now they look back and laugh about it. Big families are fun but expensive. But you get paid back in love!

  2. How neat on the chance meeting of Motherhood & Nanahood! It’s funny, we have four kids but because of the step-parenting thing, it’s really hard to figure out who that middle child might be!

  3. Aww, your grand daughters are so cute! And it looks like you had a great time on the cruise 🙂 But then, how could you not, it’s Disney.

  4. That’s so true Sara! A great way to relive things! Hope you are well and having a great year so far. Thanks for stopping by NanaHood and hope you will visit again soon!
