Worship With Me
My cousin Martha called today. She finds out this week when she will go to Texas to begin her cancer treatment at M D Anderson.
“You are not going to believe what happened today!” she said.
Considering what has happened to her the last couple of weeks I was afraid to ask, but she sounded happy.
“What?” I asked.
“Two ladies I taught with twenty years ago came to church this morning and surprised me. They said they wanted me to know how much they cared and it occured to them that one way to let me know was to come and worship with me.”
Judging from the sound of her voice, I think it worked.
Please keep Martha in your prayers this week and the weeks ahead. I would appreciate it and so will she.
The Rock that is Higher Than I
Oh! sometimes the shadows are deep,
And rough seems the path to the goal,
And sorrows, sometimes how they sweep
Like tempests down over the soul.
Refrain
O then to the Rock let me fly
To the Rock that is higher than I
O then to the Rock let me fly
To the Rock that is higher than I!
Oh! sometimes how long seems the day,
And sometimes how weary my feet!
But toiling in life’s dusty way,
The Rock’s blessèd shadow, how sweet!
Refrain
Then near to the Rock let me keep
If blessings or sorrows prevail,
Or climbing the mountain way steep,
Or walking the shadowy vale.
