The Importance of Staying In Touch
This is a sponsored post but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Covid has changed our lives dramatically over the last year. Whether you lost a job, struggled with quarantine, or caught covid yourself, the pandemic has touched everyone’s life in many ways. The pandemic has also brought everyone perspective about the things that are truly important, such as family, friends, and health. As things begin to move back to normal, we should remember to stay connected with the people we care about. Here are a few ways to stay in touch with loved ones, no matter what life throws your way.
One way to keep in touch with friends and family is through modern technology. Texting, video calls, and phone calls are all great ways to catch up with people. Video calling has really made connecting with people so much easier. You can see the person you’re talking to, even if they are halfway around the globe. It’s almost as good as being with them in person. Phone calls and texts are also great ways to check in with people and see how they are doing. Technology has really made the world a much smaller place.
Then there’s always the old fashioned way. While messaging apps and video calls are great, they do have their place. Sometimes you really want to express your deep love and care for another person, and nothing says “I love you” quite like a handwritten letter in the mail. Whether it’s a thank you note, a love letter, or just a message to say you care, handwritten letters are the best. Handwritten notes show the receiver how much you really care about them. And it feels just as good to send a letter as it does to receive one.
Snail mail is also the best way to invite people to events, or keep them up to date on your life. Holiday cards are a great way to recap your year to everyone, and people love getting birth announcements or graduation announcements in the mail. If you’re not sure where to get cards, try Basic Invite. They have tons of designs to choose from, and all of their stationery is customizable, from font to color scheme. Be sure to check them out.
As things continue to shift from the new normal to something like the old normal, try to stay in touch with your loved ones to help you navigate it all. Whether you choose to write letters, send out announcements about milestones, or make a few phone calls, you’ll feel better after you reach out. And your loved ones will feel better after hearing from you too.
