Some Grandmas-Book Review
Disclaimer: I have not been paid to do this review. Any opinions are strictly my own.
The test of a good book for children is how well the child likes it and my 3 year old granddaughter loved Some Grandmas by Gloria Baker Feinstein. Not only is it a fun book to read to little ones, it has beautiful photographs that are guaranteed to engage them.
The books shares pictures of grandmothers with their grandchildren and illustrates how all Grandmas are different (in a good way). The pictures are bright and colorful and grandmas of many different cultures are represented. It also asks questions periodically which my 3 year old granddaughter affirmed with a resounding “YES!”
I chose this picture to share with you because I loved the colors and flowers as well as the models, but each page is delightful.
I knew immediately the author of this book and I could be great friends when I saw “Nana” on the dedication page and when I saw what her grandchildren call her,” G-lo.” How cool is that?
I am very sincere when I say that the book was a hit with my 3 year old granddaughter. How do I know? Because as soon as I finished reading it to her she said, “Nana, read it again!” And of course I did.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Some Grandmas goes to a large care center in Kansas City to help support their Volunteer Grandmother program. The center provides services to children of the working poor. The book sells for $19.95 and is a must have not just for Grandmas but for Nanas too!
