Sing and Be Happy
Yesterday’s post about the Mennonite family who lost nine family members in a tragic car accident and the recording of their beautiful voices singing, got me to thinking about what a blessing music is and how grateful I am that I can hear it. When Bill and I first got married we lived in Lexington and I volunteered at the school for the deaf. I worked with little children with varying degrees of hearing impairment. It didn’t take me long to realize that hearing is one of those blessings that I often take for granted.
My husband is musically gifted. Hand him an instrument and he will figure out how to play it. He’s best at the guitar and piano. We have a piano in the room next to our kitchen and I love cooking while listening to Bill play. Every other weekend he plays with some friends in a small band and it’s a great stress reliever.
Music is a universal language. It touches our hearts. It lifts our spirits. It creates a mood and tells a story.
How does music bring joy to your life?
