Cart Safe

My grandchildren know that germs are bad for you and they have been told more times than I can count to NOT put their fingers in their mouth. Does that stop them? Of course not. It doesn’t matter how many times you tell them…they forget. One of my granddaughters licked the outside of her bottled water today and I once watched a little boy lick the lid to an ice cream cooler in a grocery store! I didn’t know him and he didn’t know me but I couldn’t help myself. My “Nana” genes kicked in and I told him to stop.

The point is, germs are every where and kids will be kids. According to Dr. Charles Gerba, Professor of Virology at the University of Arizona’s Department of Environmental Science, the amounts of bacteria found on shopping cart surfaces were higher than those found in public restrooms. Yuck!

I don’t want bacteria near my grandchildren or my groceries. That’s where Cart Safe can help.

I couldn’t wait to review this product. When it arrived I took it out of the box and it looked like this photo. I took the ribbon off and put them in my car on the way to the store.

The brains behind Cart Safe is an Arizona mom, Andi Barness-Rubin, a working mother of three boys who was frustrated with the thought of going to the grocery store and trying to keep germs off of herself and her food. She was also frustrated by having to wipe down her entire cart every time she went shopping, so she came up with an idea that she knew would help keep herself and her family safe. Barness-Rubin worked at lightning speed to create and produce Cart Safe, the first-ever disposable shopping cart liner.

Recyclable and it works!

Cart Safe is recyclable, made from durable LDPE (low-density polyethylene, a #4 plastic). LDPE plastics are recognized by the FDA as a safe barrier from microbes. The Cart Safe liner can be disposed of by simply placing it in the recycle collection bins that most large grocery stores display at the entrance to their stores.

This short video shows how easy it is to use!

I had two grandchildren with me at the store. One was too big for the cart but the one who fit thought she was special because she had the only cart with a Cart Safe liner! It was super easy to put on and take off and it made me feel better about shopping with my grandchildren.
