Less of Me Month…Friday Links

It’s Less of Me Month here at NanaHood and the few links I have for you today are all in keeping with the theme of focusing on doing or giving to others.

  • ModestNeeds.org – a website where people can go to request small loans or grants to fix an immediate need.  In turn, others can go and look through the requests and send a small (or large) amount to fill the specific requests.   I’ve been a fan of this site for quite awhile, and I know they do good work for a lot of people!  They do have a “vetting” process for those who are asking for help – everyone must provide documents to back up or prove their need.  All in all, a really super idea and way for anyone to help.  Even if you can only give $5 or $10, your donation is added to others’ donations, and needs are filled.
  • HelpOthers.org – in my browsing around for links, I came across this site FILLED with ideas for being kind and helping others.  There is no doubt you’ll be able to find one (or ten) good “helping” ideas from this link.
  • TheHungerSite.com – Bookmark this one, and go and “click” every day.  Sponsors of TheHungerSite pay for their space on the site, and for every click, money is donated to help feed the hungry.  Of course, since there are sponsors, there are ways to shop.  Shopping through TheHungerSite helps feed the hungry too.  Be sure to check out the tabs across the top.  You can also “click” to give a mammogram, to give a child free healthcare, click to give free books, and more!

And don’t forget to come back here daily, especially this month, as we focus on Less of Me.

Happy Friday, everyone!
