Bloggers From Around the World-Australia

I just love hearing from bloggers from around the world! This is a guest post by an Aussie mom! Please welcome Julia!

Hi! I’m Julia and I blog at www.savingmummy.com.au. My blog is all about saving money in little ways – every day.

The Blue Mountains of Australia

I live with my hubby and kids in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, Australia. They are called the Blue Mountains because of the blue haze that covers the top of the mountains. This haze is caused by the oil given off from the gum (Eucalyptus) trees – this whole area is covered with large pockets of bush land and is designated a National Park.

We have four kids aged 12, 8, 5 & 3. Life, as you may appreciate, is pure craziness most of the time! Our 5 year old has ASD (form of Autism) so that gives us a further challenge – with Occupational and Speech therapy thrown into the mix. Our lives are less ‘Brady Bunch’ and more ‘Crazy Bunch’ but it is what it is and our kids are thriving so something must be working!

I finished my Journalism degree earlier this year and decided to give blogging a go. The craziness of our life and living on one (small) income really inspired me to start Saving Mummy. I also love writing and I guess the ‘quiet’ Adeline junkie in me was missing the assignment deadlines! I am really loving blogging and all it has to offer as a creative outlet.

As a relatively ‘new’ blogger, my experience with the Australian blogging community is limited. I am in the process of building and making connections. My perception is that the USA blogging community is incredibly strong, vibrant and organised! I love all the blog hops that I participate in and discovering new things from around the world. The other morning I was chatting to a fellow blogger in Lancaster (U.K) at 6am! Glad I wasn’t using a webcam – I was still in my pj’s downing my morning coffee!

Thanks, Julia, for sharing with us about your life and blogging in Australia! One of the best things about blogging is getting to know other bloggers!

Today is Thursday and it’s time for Thursday Thoughts, no rules hop. Just link up, grab my button (if you are in the mood) and link up a post that lets us know what you are thinking about. It can be new or old as long as it’s family friendly!

  3. Hi Teresa! When I first started blogging I had no idea of the friends I would make. I thought the only interaction would be if someone left me a comment lol. Now I’m addicted 🙂
