August Birthdays Keep Coming!

Wednesday we celebrated our sweet granddaughter’s birthday. Our oldest granddaughter, Abby, just turned 12. She keeps reminding me that next year she will be 13, as if I could forget.

This is our family rendition of the Birthday Song. Please be forgiving if you listen to it. I couldn’t sing because of a cold and a lot of the guys just refuse to sing….so, it is what it is! She didn’t care that we sing off-key. The little boy in her lap in one of our grandsons. He was anxious to blow her candle out but her quick reflexes kept him from doing it!

I share a birthday with my son-in-law. How cool is that? He’s such a good guy, great husband to my daughter and father to my grandchildren. I’m so happy we have the same birthday. It makes celebrating more fun.

Tonight when he and my daughter and grandkids came over they brought chalk and decorated my driveway before they ever came into the house.

All 5 of our children were here. Part of the grandchildren weren’t able to come because my daughter-in-law wasn’t feeling well so they stayed home. We missed them and hopefully they are better today.

It was fun having a house full of people. My husband, Bill, my daughter and my friend Peggy did all the cooking. All I had to do was show up! That’s my kind of birthday!

These guys couldn’t wait until it was time for the cake and cupcakes.

We put one candle on the cake for me and one for my son-in-law. Can you tell we had lots of help blowing them out? That’s probably a good thing as the cake was positioned a little far from me and I’ve had a cold.

These four played a round of basketball outside and I loved watching them from the kitchen window. I can’t remember the last time I saw all four of our sons shooting ball together. Warmed this momma’s heart.
