A Perfect Day
If a day can be perfect then this one is off to a good start. No, I didn’t win the lottery or an all expenses paid vacation to a tropical island. I got up. Had a cup of coffee (really good coffee from Brazil-thanks to my flight attendant friend Pam) and drove to a nearby town to drop off something my husband forgot.
If you are wondering why that makes for a really good day I’ll tell you.
The sky is robin’s egg blue. The clouds are cotton balls that make you want to reach up and touch them. The air is so fresh that when the wind kisses your face it’s like a caress.
I went by the hospital to see a friend and they are better (thank you God!) and I think they will get home today!
That may not sound like a perfect day to you, but the very fact that I am alive and can appreciate the wonder of God’s universe gives me enough reason to rejoice.
Last weekend I was able to spend time with some friends that I haven’t seen in awhile and I’m still basking in the glow of their friendship.
Here we are in 1974. I’m the one on the left, Teresa M. is in the middle and Annette on the right.
Here we are in 2012.
What a blessing to still be friends!
The Gift of an Ordinary Day
Occasionally I will hear someone complain about being bored. Excitement often comes with a price. I know there are people in the world who live for drama but personally, I prefer just an ordinary day.
Thank you God for this beautiful ordinary day!
