Just Say Cheese-Please
Last week my GRANDdaughter spent one night making memories with her Aunt Ray Ray and Uncle Gabe. They went camping (in the living room) in a blanket tent. My daughter views camping like her mother (she hates bugs and being hot) so they roasted Smores outside, but camped inside. My daughter’s two terriors were in the tent with them. One was supposedly a bear and the other a squirrel (my daughter and son-in-law have BIG imaginations!)
The tent was positioned where they could see the big screen television so for entertainment they watched Hannah Montana. When they got sleepy they moved from the tent to the bed. Now that’s my kind of camping trip!
Camping When I Was a Child
My mother wasn’t a camper either. When I was about eight years old my aunts decided it would be fun to take all the children camping next to the pond on my grandfather’s farm. My mother was raised on a farm but she liked the comforts of home much better than roughing it outdoors. I remember that she protested (loudly) but my father insisted that we participate. We all went to the family camp out but when I refused to “go behind a tree” to use the bathroom, mom told dad he could stay with my younger brother if he wanted to but the girls were going home…and we did.
The day after the camping trip Aunt Ray Ray took Abby to Chuckie Cheese for pizza.
I hate all rodents, but I guess a pretend one isn’t too bad. Abby had fun and that’s what matters.
