Lemon Pound Cake Recipe
I love a hot cup of coffee and a sweet slice of lemon pound cake in the morning! While it’s just as tasty as a snack or after dinner dessert, I still enjoy it most for breakfast. There’s something about that little zing of lemon mixed with the sweet, buttery flavors in a pound cake that pair so well with coffee. It’s a must-try recipe this week!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Ingredients for Lemon Pound Cake:
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 5 eggs
Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
Preparation:
- Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees and lightly grease a 9×5 loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, eggs, and sugar.
- Add in flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
- Add sour cream and lemon juice and mix well.
- Pour into loaf pan and bake for 60 minutes or just as it starts to turn golden brown.
- Cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Combine powdered sugar and water to form glaze and pour on top before serving.
