Hawaiian Huli Huli Chicken
Hawaiian Huli Huli Chicken is a flavorful dish you’ll never get tired of making. The marinade is easy to whip up and the cooking options are plentiful to suit your needs.
Cooking Options
While grilling is one of my favorites, the crazy Texas weather can change on a dime and doesn’t always allow for my outdoor cooking plans. This is another reason I love having an air fryer on hand. You can also pop it on a pan and bake it in your oven. Ready to make your new favorite dish tonight?
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Ingredients:
- 2-3 lbs chicken tenderloins (but breast and thighs are amazing as well)
- 3/4 cups of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger or fresh ginger slices
- 1 tsp minced garlic
Preparation:
- Mix together all marinade ingredients until smooth
- Add in chicken and marinate for at least 2-4 hours or more
- Set air fryer to 330 degrees and cook each side for 5 minutes. Just remember to add a few extra minutes to each side if you choose to use breast or thighs.
Delicious Sides
We are huge rice eaters, so our favorite sides with Huli Huli are steamed or fried rice. After mixing the marinade, I set aside a bit to drizzle over the chicken and rice. If I am bbq’ing, I love to chop up pineapple and red onion to place them all on kebob skewers. The pineapple and onion grill up nicely and add to the amazing flavors in the Huli Huli marinade. Adding a side of dumplings or a handful of shrimp also compliment the chicken nicely.
We can’t wait to hear how yours turns out!
