Girlfriends Getaway

Girlfriends Getaway-Nothing like it!

Dear Girlfriends,

Yesterday someone asked me how my sisters were and I was puzzled. “I don’t have any sisters,” I replied. The person I was speaking to me scratched his head and said, “I saw some pictures of you on Facebook with your sisters, didn’t I?”

Then it hit me. He was talking about you! He had seen pictures of us together and assumed we were sisters. I told him that he was right. That you are my sisters and that I missed you very much and I do!

In fact, I miss you so much I think it’s time we planned our next getaway. Because I was in charge of the last one and it did not turn out so well I am requesting that one of you choose the location. In case you have forgotten (I know you haven’t but the folks reading this won’t know) I rented a houseboat for us and when we arrived we found that it had been moved to the far side of the dock, next to a highway and a school. Nothing like being on a boat at the lake and hearing cars whiz by and kids screaming on a playground for a relaxing weekend, right?

Anyway, I have had a rough couple of weeks and could really use some rest and relaxation with you. As you know, my dog died, my granddaughter has been in the hospital, I have had bronchitis and it’s allergy season in Kentucky. I’ve sneezed and coughed until my ribs are sore, and it’s downright depressing outside because it’s rained every day for two weeks. Can we please go somewhere warm and dry?

Being with you all always cheers me up-even though we spend a lot of time discussing our various ailments. There’s no one else that understands me the way you do. I know you will sympathize with me when I tell you about driving home the other day and my 9 year old granddaughter kept playing with underarms. “Nana, why does this skin flap back and forth when I poke it?” I was driving so I couldn’t get away from her and she just kept doing it over and over. I kept thinking about the weights under my bed that I never get around to using. I think they have been under there for a couple of years now. Anyway, I know you will understand.

So, how about a girlfriends getaway? My bags are packed. Just let me know when and where we are going.

Hugs,

Teresa

  1. Perfect! I’m going to share with mineI I sure get it…..the depressing rain here too….and my 7yo asking about the saggy jiggy skin, and boxing up my life to sell house. Your piece today gives me smiles and renewed anticipation for my girlfriend’s weekend in June! Awesome job as always!
