September Dining Days: Celebrate With AARP

AARP Members Advantage and September Dining Days

I love being a member of AARP! One of the reasons I do is because of AARP Member Advantages dining offers. All I have to do is show my AARP card and I get discounts at some great restaurants. September is a great month to explore the benefits of becoming an AARP member with Dining Days.

What is Dining Days? You can read about it here but first let me tell you about my recent fun experience at one of the participating restaurants, Outback Steakhouse.

With my AARP card in hand I visited Outback for lunch. As a busy mom and nana I do a lot of cooking for my family. Every once in a while it’s nice to let someone else cook for me!

It was a beautiful day for running errands. My son is getting married and I had lots of last minute odds and ends to pick up. After a busy morning I headed to the restaurant to enjoy a relaxing meal.

The staff was friendly and helpful but there were so many choices it took me a while to decide! I finally asked one of these delightful young ladies to recommend something because I couldn’t make up my mind.

After all, when you have this many choices it’s hard to pick just one thing! I finally decided on Chicken Tacos and placed my order to go. I thought about eating inside but it was such a beautiful day that I sat on their porch with my food and enjoyed being outdoors.

And boy, oh boy, did they give me a lot of food! I got a house salad, 3 tacos, bread and a drink and with my 10% AARP Member discount, I had enough money left over to do some more shopping!

Seriously, there was so much food I couldn’t eat it all, but it was delicious. I brought the leftovers home and ate it for lunch the next day.
