Instant Pot Chicken Wings

Who doesn’t love a plate of wings? They are the perfect go-to appetizer or snack for any occasion. My favorite way to make chicken wings is in my instant pot because of the ease and quick cook time it provides. Not to mention, I can also air fry them for a few minutes and they come out so tender and flavorful every time! If you’re looking for a hassle-free way to make your wings this week, you’ll love this instant pot recipe!

Here’s What You’l Need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound frozen chicken wings
  • 2 cups chicken broth or water
  • your favorite wing flavor
  • 2 tbsp oil

Preparation:

  • Place the steaming basket into your instant pot.
  • Pour two cups of broth or water into the pot and add wings.
  • Manual pressure cook for 25 minutes, then quick release.
  • Carefully brush oil on each wing if you will be using a dry rub seasoning, then sprinkle your seasoning mix on the wings. I’m using a pre-mixed lemon pepper rub. If you are making hot wings, bbq, or any other liquid, brush it on your wings now.
  • If you’re using a Ninja, place your air fryer lid on and set to 390 degrees for 10 minutes. You can also transfer your wings to an air fryer or oven to crisp the outside.
  • If you prefer not to crisp your chicken wings, they are ready to serve!

Flavors for Everyone

The kids and I like different flavors, which isn’t an issue with these easy to make chicken wings! After pressure cooking, I remove several wings that will have a dry rub for easier sprinkling access. I brush several in the pot with bbq sauce, another handful with spicy wing sauce, then load mine up with lemon pepper rub on a small plate. I return the lemon pepper chicken wings the the air fryer, and crisp all flavors together. It’s that simple and everyone is happy!
