Hoarding Doesn’t Just Happen On Television
Up until a few weeks ago all I knew about hoarding I learned from watching a television show. Then we purchased some property and I got a close up few of what hoarding is really like.
In case you are wondering why we would want to buy such a mess the answer is this house is on the farm where my mother was born.
It’s hard to tell from the pictures but there is actually a little path with gates leading up to the house. I would like to tell you the inside of the house was better, but it wasn’t. Just a little path through the center of stacks and stacks of stuff.
I have never seen anything so depressing. Hoarding is real and it’s sad.
I have no idea how or when we will get it cleaned up, but we will. Leave your name and number if you’d like to help. lol
My Grandfather was a hoader nearly this bad. After he died it all had to be cleaned up and all the metal went to a recycler and was quite valuable. It looks like you may have some dollars in those piles!
I’m all for reusing and re-purposing. For example, there are lots of good things to do with empty detergent containers. Throwing them out in the yard, however, is not one of them.
I agree with Mary Alice. Get a dozer and push it into one big pile and let it burn. Be sure to wear gloves.
That’s one bad case of hoarding. I hope the house is salvageable. No rat infestation. I agree, torching would be good and easier. Roast hot dogs and marshmellows….wellllllmaybe not over who knows what kinda icky junk there is. Too bad I’m not closer…or…
Thats going to be one big chore…
I agree with Mrs. Yokley!
Torch it!
