Hoarding Doesn’t Just Happen On Television

Up until a few weeks ago all I knew about hoarding I learned from watching a television show.  Then we purchased some property and I got a close up few of what hoarding is really like.

In case you are wondering why we would want to buy such a mess the answer is this house is on the farm where my mother was born.

It’s hard to tell from the pictures but there is actually a little path with gates leading up to the house. I would like to tell you the inside of the house was better, but it wasn’t. Just a little path through the center of stacks and stacks of stuff.

I have never seen anything so depressing. Hoarding is real and it’s sad.

I have no idea how or when we will get it cleaned up, but we will. Leave your name and number if you’d like to help. lol

  1. My Grandfather was a hoader nearly this bad. After he died it all had to be cleaned up and all the metal went to a recycler and was quite valuable. It looks like you may have some dollars in those piles!

  3. I agree with Mary Alice. Get a dozer and push it into one big pile and let it burn. Be sure to wear gloves.

  4. That’s one bad case of hoarding. I hope the house is salvageable. No rat infestation. I agree, torching would be good and easier. Roast hot dogs and marshmellows….wellllllmaybe not over who knows what kinda icky junk there is. Too bad I’m not closer…or…
