Blast Those Arctic Blasts!
Weather is important. If for no other reason than it gives us something to talk about when we really don’t have anything to say. Here, in Kentucky, the winters are not like they were when I was a child. Years ago we had a lot more snow. After a big snow all the neighborhood kids would drag their sleds to to the top of the biggest hill and spend hours sledding. My children never got to do that because at some point it just quit snowing in southern Kentucky.
Some winters it has been so warm that it hasn’t even felt like winter but not this one. At first I blamed my Canadian friends. “Dear Canadian friends,” I tweeted, “Please stop with the arctic blasts! We have had enough! That. is. all. Thank you.”
Truth is, I’m sure they are more tired of arctic blasts than I am.
After my tweet, Carol from Minnesota, tweeted back and said, “It’s -16 (w/c of -28) right now.”
Suddenly I felt a lot warmer.
Are you warm where you are? If it’s above 40 where you are I am so jealous!
Yowzer!!! That’s a lot of snow!!!!
We measured the snow bank in our driveway today after the 4th straight day of road closures due to blizzard conditions – the wall of snow is 5 feet high.
Yes we Canadians would like the snow to stop well at least I would. What ever happened to a January thaw?
I remember those winters many years ago, too. Lots of snow and lots of fun!!
