Last But Not Least… ELVIS!

What does ELVIS have to do with NanaHood.com’s 2nd birthday? Admittedly, not much!

But, it IS Elvis week this week, and it seemed like a fun thing to mention and add-on to our celebration today.  And isn’t that just a fabulous photo?  (courtesy of Elvis.com)

  1. Way cool! I saw him in 74 but I wasn’t close enough to touch anything but the screaming girl next to me!

  2. My favorite Elvis memory is getting to see him in concert in Spokane, WA for my 13th birthday. We went to the early show and then went backstage at the end of the late show. I got to touch the car he was driving in and he waved to me.

  3. When Elvis first came on TV, we did not have a television set…so I traveled across the road to the little house where my brother and his wife lived, with their own personal TV……what a treat!

  4. when I was growing up he was my hero and I have all of his Gospel Alumbs How Great Thou Are! was my favorite.

  5. When I was a teen, I won a record album of Elvis and I love his song “Yellow Rose of Texas.” which was on that album. I may still have it but no longer have a record player. I also like his religious songs as well. He died the same year I married my husband. Something else happened then as well that year but can’t remember it!

  6. My two teenage sisters let me go to the movies with them to see Elvis’s first movie, “Love Me Tender” when I was five years old. I think he died in that one. All I remember is a lot of teenage girls swooning and crying!
