How To Feel 16 Again

Have you ever stumbled onto a place that was just magical? Every so often my girlfriends and I book a place on VRBO, leave our families behind and meet up for a weekend. This trip we hit the jackpot. We stayed at a lovely cabin with a beautiful view. I live in Kentucky and some of our friends live in Georgia so we met in Tennessee. The log cabin we stayed at was next to a very large pond, or maybe it was a small lake, either way the setting was perfect.

We have taken trips where our accommodations didn’t meet our expectations (like the time we rented a houseboat and it was parked next to a highway)  but that didn’t happen this time. No matter which way you looked or what time of day it was, the view was perfect.

There was even a neighborhood dog who visited frequently, so he must have thought we were a fun group. Or maybe he just liked our snack food!

And the neighbors were so nice they let us borrow their kayaks. Every thing went fine until someone asked for a shove away from the shore and the shove was too hard. SPLASH!

It was a special place with some gals I have been friends with for a long, long time. If you don’t take trips with your girlfriends I encourage you to.

No matter how old you are—when you are with your girlfriends you are 16 again.

Friends

We laughed until we cried and then we laughed some more. No stress. No worries. Just friends remembering days gone by and making new memories.

There were only two bad things about the weekend; one was that one of our dear friends didn’t get to come and the other was saying goodbye to each other!

We had a great time and we hope to do it again soon. It’s fun being 16 for a weekend when you don’t have to deal with hormones, zits and the daily drama of high school!

  11. So nice of you to stop by and comment! Just wish the 4th Mosier had been with us. Teresa and I were in the same class. Pam was the older sister and Kim and Tammy were the little sisters who aggravated us. Love them all and their Momma!

  12. 3 Mosiers! No doubt you felt 16 again! I’ve had the pleasure of hanging and traveling with these ladies many times. BTW…I have worse skin now than I did at 16! Anti aging and adult acne is NO fun.
