Nanas Need Friends Too
Some friendships last longer than others. I’ve been so blessed to have a close set of friends to share my life with. Most of them I have known for many, many years.
A friend is one who walks in when others walk out.

Last Monday I told you about my cousin Martha. We grew up in different states but still managed to be close because her parents were teachers and every summer they came to my grandfather’s house. I saw this quote on a friend’s Facebook page and it reminded me of Martha.
Besides Martha, I also have some girlfriends from high school that I am still very close to, even though there have been periods in our lives when we were too busy raising babies and working to spend very much time together. However, we have always managed to pick right back up where we left off.
A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one’s heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping, and with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.

When we were in high school I spent many nights at my friend’s house on Apple Grove Road (sounds like a country song, doesn’t it?) There were 4 sisters who lived there with their parents. Two of the sisters were my age and two were several years younger. I love them all dearly and this past week we gathered at their old house to share some memories.
I don’t care how old I get I will never outgrow the need for girlfriends. Nanas need girlfriends too!
A friend is one with whom you are comfortable, to whom you are loyal, through whom you are blessed, and for whom you are grateful.

I agree! Not so sure that “Mama Versie” may just look better than all of us. She is so precious! Her outlook & attitude should be an example for us all to work hard to accomplish. Love to all you!
Our “longtime” friends make our hearts smile. It is the best medicine ever! We always LOVE seeing you and catching up. The visits are always way to short though!! Love you.
