When the wind blows
Yesterday the wind was so strong it turned over a neighbor’s travel trailer. He said it had sat in the same spot for five years, until the wind decided to tip it over. You would think that with wind that strong I would remember to tie down everything in the yard, but noooooo.
I did remember the garbage cans and put them in the garage but I was sitting in my office working on the computer and heard a horrific noise. I looked outside just as the two four foot tall Christmas trees I had on the porch and my new wreath went dancing down the hillside!
Kind of reminds me of “When out on the roof there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.”
Anyway, I sprang from my “laptop” and went running outside to see if I could catch the tree and wreath. Murphy, our black and white cocker spaniel came to assist. I grabbed up the wreath first (it cost the most) and started after a tree. When what to my wondering eyes did appear…it was NOT a sleigh and eight tiny reindeer. It was Murphy, marking his territory on my Christmas tree!
Grrrrrr! It took two trips out into the wind and rain but I finally caught everything and got it safely inside, including Murphy who was wet and puzzled over why I yelled at him for tinkling on my tree.
Today I will be hosing the tree off and putting it back on the porch.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
You are welcome! Tree is now back on front porch. I have NOT sniffed it to see if the dogs think it is real!
Thanks for the giggle. Although it was at the expense of your tinkled on tree…
