Wondering Why

Some things are so horrible that it’s beyond belief. In a nearby community a woman kidnapped a girl who was about to have a baby. The woman had faked being pregnant and when she showed up at the hospital claiming to have given birth, the staff called the police. I don’t know what tipped them off, but the police found the babies real mother dead, murdered. She was only 21.

This is what the local television station said,

After investigating, troopers went to a wooded area near the Oakland community where they discovered the body of 21 year old Jamie Stice.

According to Stice’s sister, Coy and Stice met through a mutual friend.

KSP trooper Johnathan Biven talked to us about the shocking violence of the crime. “No.This is something that’s new to this area. Like I said, you read about it in different newspapers and hear about it in Hollywood but now it’s here in the Bowling Green area,” he said.

I can’t imagine what the murdered girls family and friends must be feeling. When something so horrible happens it makes us pause and wonder why?

What would make someone do something so terrible?  There is no answer. Only silence and the cry of a newborn child who will grow up without a mother and forever wonder, “Why?”
