What if you found out today that you had breast cancer?

Right now, today, someone just received some bad news and they are wondering how to deal with it.

Cancer of any kind is not fun. That’s obvious, right? But that doesn’t mean that those who have it, or those who love them should never smile, laugh, or have a good time. In fact, having a positive attitude is one of the most important aspects of any serious illness.

A few months ago I stumbled upon a video from You Tube that I shared with you called The Pink Glove Dance. Basically it consists of folks who worked at a hospital putting on pink gloves and dancing to raise breast cancer awareness. I absolutely loved it. Maybe it’s because I love dancing and have aspirations of dancing on the Ellen Show one day. Or maybe it’s just because the people in the video are real people, not professionals. Let’s just say these folks (most of them) will never make it on Dancing With the Stars.

Watching the video inspired me to make my own Dancing 4 a Cure  (dedicated to my cousin Martha) and if you haven’t seen it…well I won’t make Dancing With the Stars either.

The folks who did the first video actually have a sequel and they hosted a contest in search of the best pink glove dance. I’ve spent most of the morning (when I should be doing other things) watching videos and I have to say, there are a lot of wonderful, awesome people out there who really want to raise awareness and make you smile while doing it. I picked out one of my favorites but honestly, there are tons more.

Enjoy and remember….today, probably right now someone is finding out they have breast cancer. You can help them by supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation and donating to my NanaHood Friends and Family Team! Won’t you help?
