New Grandchild Announcement from NanaHood
Several months ago I told you that grandchild number 7 was on the way. I even wrote a post about it that you can read here. I am excited to announce that she has finally arrived! I say “finally” because she was a tad bit late. I jokingly told her mom that she was going to be a “Curfew Breaker.”
Ivy Blair has arrived and like Stevie Wonder sang….”Isn’t she lovely?” Of all the pictures we made this weekend (Nana’s camera is full) the one above is my favorite. There is no better feeling than seeing your child fall in love with their child.
Big brother wanted to know why her hands were wadded up in fists. All of the littles had lots of questions!
This little cousin looked at her right as she yawned and proclaimed, “She ain’t got no teeth!” Then Big Brother responded, “That’s okay. She can have ice cream and mashed potatoes!”
It’s funny how you remember things and forget others. I knew the new baby had a strong resemblance to her big sister but I had forgotten that Big Sister also had dark hair at birth which was replaced with copper colored curls. When we placed a photo of New Baby by Big Sister they were identical! Twins 7 years apart!
It is amazing how quickly the years pass. This is my oldest granddaughter holding the newest granddaughter. It seems just like yesterday she was a baby!
Grandchildren are a blessing from God and I’m so over the moon with love for all 7 of them!
