Melting Snowmen, Sharks, and Other Critters

Disclaimer: I’m an Amazon Affiliate and some of these melting critters are linked through NanaHood so I get a very small piece of change if you purchase one. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I wouldn’t recommend them if I didn’t like them!

Winter in Minnesota

This is what winter feels like at this point. January in Minnesota has been the cloudiest on record. EVER. Last January our records were about cold, some Polar Vortex situation. Other Januaries have been about snow, and it lasts for months beyond January. I remember the year my daughter was married (June 29, 2013) I was sitting at the dining room table addressing wedding invitations at the requisite six-weeks-before mark, and it was snowing. In six weeks, we would be at the ceremony, sleeveless and lakeside. We skipped right to summer that year though; the day was beautiful.

We Minnesotans survive with humor, warm clothes, and warm hearts. I whisper a silent thankful prayer every time I come through the front door assured the furnace is working. The kids have learned the trick of putting their jackets and mittens on my radiators, the warmth sustaining their ride home.

This Miracle Melting Snowman Kit really captured our feelings this week, and I thought you and your Grands might find some entertainment with it as well. Our kit is on year two, and missing a few pieces, but the kids still roll the putty into three balls, add the requisite parts, and chuckle at the many ways he chooses to wither, sometimes several times a day. We even conduct some scientific observations, comparing sunlight melting vs. lamplight, or cooler parts of the house. Sometimes we forget and come across the puddle – often funny as well. I got to thinking that it would even be fun in a long-distance situation, to each have one, and compare notes and funny photos.

Our other recourse is a Florida escape – we leave tomorrow! When I went online to find you the link for the snowman, I had to order the Miracle Melting Shark! There is also a unicorn, dinosaur, and, of course, a witch, but it is a long time to October. Sometimes it snows then too.

How about a melting Unicorn? That might be fun.

Melting

Isn’t she adorable putting together her melting shark? Makes me wish I had one right now!

Melting
I think Mr. Shark is about to attack her pretty fingernails!

My granddaughters love cats and the idea of having a kitty that melts is something I think they will go for.

Personally, I think I would like the ice cream. Just because I think I could trick my husband into thinking I left melting ice-cream on his bedside table….or maybe one of his suits? Aren’t I mischievous?

Truthfully, wouldn’t your grands enjoy watching these things melt in your house? I can’t wait to order mine and start playing with them at my house and maybe I’ll surprise my daughter and daughter-in-law at their houses. I know my grands are going to love it! Thanks, Karen Ritz, for sharing!
